George "Lisle" Cheatham, II

I grew up in South Central Kentucky, where small towns, strong values, and helping your 
neighbors were simply a way of life. My parents worked in rural healthcare, and from them I learned that serving others isn’t just something you do—it’s who you are. That lesson has shaped both my career and my life.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky, I started out on Wall Street. It was exciting, but I quickly realized I wanted something more personal—real relationships, not just numbers. That led me back home, where I co-founded American Financial Consultants, Inc. For over 30 years now, I’ve been helping people turn their financial goals into a plan they can feel confident about.

Service has always been at the heart of what I do, whether it’s guiding clients, serving 16 years as Mayor of my hometown, or today, working as Chairman of the Kentucky County Employee Retirement System, helping oversee benefits for thousands of Kentuckians.

When I sit down with someone, my goal is simple: to listen first. Every plan starts with 
understanding what matters most to you—your dreams, your goals, your comfort level with risk. Only then do we put the pieces together to create a strategy that works for your life.

Outside of work, my proudest role is being a dad. My daughter, Evie, is an attorney in 
Washington, D.C., and we share a love of live music, traveling, and being outdoors together whenever we can.

At the end of the day, whether in public service or financial planning, my purpose has always been the same: to help people feel secure, supported, and confident about their future. I’d love the opportunity to do the same for you.
